The tilt portion uses a hydraulic dampening cylinder to to keep the tilt from slamming up or down; an electric over hydraulic, up and down, version is also available. Residential Tilts
Residential Tilt Trailers are generally used to haul a tractor, small skid steer, or a mini-excavator without having to mess with ramps. This style has a single hydraulic damper cylinder, 5" frame, smaller jack, and generally without a tool box on the front. They are in the 10,000 to 12,000 pound GVWR rating.
Commercial Tilts
Commercial Tilt Trailers are typically used in fields such as heavy landscaping, plumbing, construction, roofing, tree work, and more. This style offers a 6" frame, heavier axles, larger jack, front tool box, and upgraded tires. These are in the 14,000 to 15,000 pound GVWR rating.
Industrial Tilts
Industrial Tilt Trailers are used for the heavier jobs that the residential and commercial tilt trailers will not handle. This category has heavier axles and brakes, an upgraded 6" tube frame, 2 hydraulic damper cylinders, and upgraded cross-members. These are in the 16,000 + GVWR rating.
